Eye to Eye 2026
July 9 – August 16, 2026
at Fresh Eye Gallery
Now in its twelfth year, Eye to Eye offers a unique opportunity to bring artists together from disparate disciplines, communities and abilities. Artists represented by Fresh Eye Arts and the wider community are paired to create original collaborative work over a period of three months. At the end of the collaboration period, the work is displayed in an exhibition at Fresh Eye Gallery.
I was matched with textile artist Joah Bingert. We both went into this project with little experience in each other’s medium but excited to learn and truly collaborate on these pieces. Together, we combined our practices to explore the complexities of grief. The Weight of it All (left) explores the heaviness of anticipatory grief and loss, and impact of this slow building, in-between time.

Everything, All At Once (right) demonstrates unexpected loss, and the uncontrollable breaking and altering of the original state of being. Together, both pieces also reflect beauty in grief, embracing themes of support, mending, and rediscovered stability.
